The field centre is open throughout the year, providing a comfortable, peaceful and unique setting, well away from the noise of towns and roads. The provides accommodation for individuals, but the centre and it’s 1.5 acres of grounds are also available for private hire, meetings, team-building days, small conferences and other appropriate uses. The adjacent 3.0 acre woodland reserve is available for use in conjunction with the centre, but for quite enjoyment, educational and research uses only.
The main building is Victorian, it was built in 1878 and retains many period features. The building consists of a large communal hall heated by a woodburner and three dormitories with electric radiators. The main dormitory sleeps 21, a second dormitory sleeps 12 and one small bunk room sleeps 3. There is also a large kitchen with double range cooker. A timbered front for the building was added in 2006 and provides the main entrance, together with male and female toilets, a disabled toilet, two showers and disabled access lift. Externally, the main building and its grounds are bounded by a stone wall with metal entrance gates.
The field centre is self-catering. However, breakfast, lunch, packed lunch, and evening meals can be provided by prior arrangement. The bunk beds have mattress and quilted mattress protectors, but you must bring your own bedding.
The centre welcomes children and we are dog friendly. Wi-Fi is free, subject to availability.
